Education

In addition to his performance and compositional activities, Brian has many years of experience teaching students in individual and group lessons and coaching ensembles.  Based on his experiences as an educator and performer, he is now offering a variety of presentations for students of all ages that can be customized to fit many educational settings.  Brian’s newly crafted iStory program is an innovative interactive approach to teaching young students about the power of music in storytelling and helps foster an awareness of connections between language and art.  He also has a wide range of offerings for teaching students of all ages jazz history and improvisation and is available to give clinics, masterclasses, and performances.  Please visit the iStory and jazz improvisation/big band clinics sub-pages for more information on what Brian can bring to your school and don’t hesitate to contact him if you have any questions.
